A new research project coordinated by Prof. Dr. Franziska Mathis-Ullrich aims to harness artificial intelligence to support the early detection of endometriosis using ultrasound imaging. The interdisciplinary team is developing machine learning models that can automatically identify subtle patterns in multimodal pre-, intra-, and post-operative data, helping to accelerate diagnosis and reduce the long delays many patients currently face. The project was officially handed over by Bavarian Health Minister Judith Gerlach to the participating institutions: FAU, Universitätsklinikum Erlangen, the University of Würzburg, and the Technical University of Munich.
